The larvae of goliath beetle require sticky soil to form pupa cells. When these larvae are ready to pupate, they will wander on top of flake soil and start losing weight. To stop them from wondering, sticky content soil is needed. It is important to have the pupation substrate ready beforehand, so your larva does not lose too much weight, and potentially die. In general, flower beetle species form cocoons and larvae form pupa cells inside, The pupation substrate can also benefit other flower species such as Mecynorhina torquata ugandensis

We mix clay and sand to the right ratio to create perfect stickiness, sift to the proper particle size then freeze to eliminate any pests/organisms. This product contains sand clay soil in 80 oz container. It is enough for 1 Goliath beetle to pupate regardless of size. This spacious container gives enough room for any size of grub to pupate.
