Flake Soil (Food for Beetle Larvae)
Flake Soil (Food for Beetle Larvae)
Each bag contains about 1.2 gallon (volume) of flake soil. Stag beetles generally prefer less fermented or decayed flake soil, and rhino/flower beetles prefer more fermented or decayed flake soil.
Goliath beetle larvae do feed on flake soil in their early stages, but primarily will need to be fed supplementary protein like Koi pellets. Contact us for more information

Storage
If you don't plan on using newly purchased substrate within couple weeks, you must store them in a right ways:
Method 1: Freeze the substrate, and just unfreeze it a day before replacing old substrate. Make sure the substrate’s temperature is similar to your room temperature.
Method 2: Take substrate out of the bag, and pour it into a container that has small holes (large holes can attract pest infestation). Stir and mix it once in a while to aerate it to prevent molds.
Method 3: Take the substrate out to open air. Let it completely dry out, so pests and other organisms will leave the substrate. When ready to use, simply add water to the dried out substrate to be used again for your larvae.
